Pierre Van Damme
Pierre Van Damme was born in Ghent and studied in Antwerp. For more than 30 years, Pierre has been conducting vaccine research at the University of Antwerp. He is leading the Centre for the Evaluation of Vaccination, a collaborative centre of the World Health Organization. Pierre authored more than 400 peer-reviewed papers with his most fascinating projects being related to hepatitis B, polio, and ebola vaccines. He is married to Myrjam Cramm, general practitioner in the centre of Antwerp. They have 3 children.
