TEDxAntwerp 2018

Ticket

Please have a (digital) copy of your ticket with you. If you are on the guestlist (e.g. invitation by sponsor) please proceed to the ticketing desk to receive your wristband. If you bough a student ticket, you will need to show your student ID at the entrance when your barcode is being scanned.

Speakers

We have 14 speakers who are 100% ready to give the best of themselves on stage. From the 4th industrial revolution, over dentistry and design thinking, all the way to a chilling personal story. Have a sneak peek here. Add to that three musical acts and you know you wouldn’t want to miss out on this.

Venue

Just like in 2017, this year’s event takes place in the Arenberg, in the center of Antwerp. Be aware that it’s also a Christmas shopping Sunday, so parking spaces might be sparse. Try carpooling or parking your car on one of the P+R’s around town. From there, take a bus/tram to the Central Station (15 min walk) or the Stadspark tram stop.

Timing

The auditorium doors open at 9:30, the perfect moment to pick your favourite spot (free seating). The first talk starts at 10:00 sharp. Be aware that entry to the auditorium is only allowed between two talks. The venue itself is accessible from 8:30, so please plan ample time to pass the ticketing desk to pickup your wristband, bring your coat to the cloakroom, and have a coffee to wake up your brain.

Food and Drinks

Throughout the day, coffee, tea, and water are available free of charge. Soft drinks are available at your own expense, and alcoholic drinks are not served until after the last talk.
During the lunch break, your tastebuds will be treated with the taste of Loa’s Streetfood, food with an unexpected backstory.

Conversation Starter

TEDxAntwerp is a networking event. During the breaks, we offer the possibility to meet new and interesting people through Conversation Starter. Sign up, and we’ll help you find the most interesting fellow participants.

Workshops

We wouldn’t be TEDxAntwerp if we wouldn’t offer more brainfood between the speaker blocks. On the menu: a mini-hackaton with HackBelgium, a thrilling VR experience, a meetup with our speakers, and you can even operate an 18th century bookpress yourself to print a souvenir to take home.
